HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

history has shown that the human rights of every man, woman and child have made a tremendous leap in the last fifty years. After the United Nations came into being, in 1948, an international Declaration oh Human Rights of their citizens and those of anyone visiting their countries. The Human Rights Day was first celebrated on December 10^th 1996. the Universal Declaration of Human Rights enshrines ideals and values with ancient roots in the cultures and traditions of all peoples. The achievement of the Declaration was to bring together those traditions and to recognize that “human” rights are, by their nature, universal, inalienable and indivisible: that they belong to all people. They are a standard of achievement to which every human being is entitled.

On Human Right Day we recall that each of us has a responsibility to ensure that we respect the human rights of others as much as we expect others to respect our rights. It is a relationship which challenges us every day whether in our family life, or school, our communities, our society or our government.

The possible dream

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children. To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate the beauty, to find the best in others, to give one's self; to leave the world a little better. Whether by healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition. To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived...this is to have succeeded.

Dia dos Direitos Humanos

A história mostrou que os direitos humanos de todo homem, mulher e criança têm dado um tremendo salto no últimos cinquenta anos. Depois que nas Nações Unidas entrou em vigor, em 1948, uma declaração internacional dos Direitos Humanos dos seus cidadãos e os de qualquer pessoa que visite seus países. O Dia dos Direitos Humanos foi comemorado em 10 dezembro 1996. A Declaração Universal dos Direitos do Homem consagra os ideais e valores com antigas raízes nas culturas e tradições de todos os povos. A concretização da Declaração foi reunir as tradições e reconhecer que direitos "humanos" são, por natureza, universal, inalienável e indivisível: e que eles pertencem a todas as pessoas. Eles são um padrão de desempenho em que cada ser humano tem direito.
O dia dos Direitos Humanos é para lembrarmos que cada um de nós tem a responsabilidade de assegurar que respeitamos os direitos humanos dos outros tanto quanto nós esperamos que os outros respeitem nossos direitos. É uma relação que nos desafia todos os dias em nossa vida familiar ou na escola, em nossas comunidades, nossa sociedade e nosso governo.

O sonho possível

Sorrir e amar mais, para ganhar o respeito de pessoas inteligentes e o afeto das crianças. Para ganhar a aprovação de críticos honestos e suportar a traição de falsos amigos. Para apreciar a beleza, encontrar o melhor nos outros para dar a si mesmo, para deixar o mundo um pouco melhor. Seja para uma criança saudável, um canteiro de jardim ou uma redimida condição social. Por ter brincado e rido com entusiasmo e cantado com júbilo; saber mesmo se uma vida foi usufruida mais fácil porque você viveu ... isso é ter sucesso.
